Recreate "Eclectic Prints"

So, one of the major trends for Spring 2012 is "mixing prints." Carried forward from fall 2011, this trend originated for the "bold," but has been worn by one and all in their own little ways. Clearly, designers have recognized the untapped potential of this trend and for Spring 2012, its back with a bang.

How do you wear it without looking like a mixed mess?

P's tips:
  • Mix big & small- Mixing large prints like the geometric squares on the shorts with stripes or the houndstooth print. The horizontal stripes balance the bigger prints to create a refined look.
  • Color repetition- You must always have one or two colors that repeat in your outfit for uniformity. In my outfit, it was my favorite color, black.
  • Neutral Stripes: Stripes are an easy neutral to work this trend. Vertical or Horizontal, Wide or Narrow; they work in harmony with all other prints.

Recreate the trend!

Easy: An easy way to work this is to wear a head to toe printed jumpsuit with neutral accessories
Medium: Work mid thigh shorts with a bold animal print tee and polka dot stilettos (when are polka dots ever too much right? ;)) and a black cross body bag.
Hard: Rock leggings with a geometric print with a reverse striped button down, zebra print pumps and a black cross body bag

Remember, "Confidence is key!"
