Top trends we're going to see on YOU next Spring

New York Fashion Week, Spring 2012! The moment every designer's vision for the season is personified and made to strut down the runway.

This season displayed many trends, some of which were carried forward (obviously ;)) and some...were merely brought back.

Trends topping the charts?

  • Eclectic Prints
Why limit ourselves to one pattern in an outfit when we can wear a piece of art all at once? Mixing prints, a huge trend for Spring/Summer 2011 is going to be on display next Spring as well!

  • White wash it!
Spring's whites are Fall's blacks and grays. Spring 2012's whites came in an arresting parade of louche dresses, chic variety of pants and separates.

  •  Crop it like it's hot
With the ubiquity of cropped tops (or their derivatives) this summer, designers decided to bring them back with an extra punch. Now, you know what you're job is right? Crop it like its hot! ;)

  • No boundary Neutrals
Even the most experimental designers stay within the boundaries to play if safe. I personally think neutrals = chic..EST if worn the right way. A whole body of monochromatic neutrals? To die for!! For Spring, neutral sheath dresses in particular were everywhere. Love Love Love!

  • Striped up
Summer 2010, Resort 2011, Spring 2011, Fall 2011 and now Spring 2012. Clearly, people are loving to get stripey! Hence, we saw many models strut down...all striped up! Vertical, Horizontal, Narrow and Wide. They were all there!

  • Slit me
Spring brings in warmer weather and warmer weather invites more skin show. When done tastefully, there are very few options that are hotter than slits. We've seen the trend this fall with maxi dresses/gowns slit up till the thigh but Spring 2012 is calling for "relatively," shorter slits with the same amount of sex appeal.

  • See through sheers
Apparently, its all about skin..shown tastefully. Sheer blouses, maxi skirts and even dresses worn by statuesque models were show stoppers.

  • Bursts of fashion
I was referring to "texture," and "applique," when I said "Bursts of fashion."  If you're a stylista, you'll agree with me when I say that watching these looks walk the runway made my heart skip quite a few beats. Feathers, Medical slides, Twisted tulle, larger than life flowers and puffy taffeta...I can just imagine myself wearing one of these and instantly feeling like Angelina Jolie.

A few hours of digging through my closet and I'll show you how to replicate the trends without having to break your bank.

Later peepers!
