5 things to buy this fall for under $50!!

Time to revamp your closet again? Here's 5 additions to your closet that will take you through the Fall 2011 that you can wear forever!

Yigal Azrouel, Karen Walker, Prabal Gurung, 3.1 Philip Lim
1) Colored pants (Buy here)
During a season replete with dull grays and blacks (literally), a big bang of color is so refreshing! From straight-leg to high wasited to chinos, falls pants come in a variety of hues. Scarlet Red, Mustard yellow, Azure blue, Kelly green and Deep pink are some of my favorite color options from some of my favorite designers. ;)

P's tip: Start of with a nude/ white blouse or a crisp button down and then move on to a printed top (look below) or a top in the same color scheme as your pants. (Daring? Yes!)

2) Tartan prints (Buy here)
Okay, so I'm throwing around complicated words but tartan is simply one of the patterns known as plaid in North America. (A tartan is usually associated with Scottish fashion). Thakoon and Rag & Bone had a variety of graphic tartan prints walk down the Fall 2011 runways.  The best part about this? It's so easy to wear!

P's tip: Investing in an expensive dress with a tartan print? Maybe not as versatile. A top or a pair of pants are so easy and you can carry them over for many seasons to come.

3) High slits (Buy here)
Let me tell you that unlike popular belief, wearing high slits during the day is okay! Honestly, I didn't think so until I saw a co intern wear a floor length black dress with an above the knee slit to work! So chic! I think so and so did the designers at Preen and Altuzarra amongst others.

P's tip- Wear em with heels. That's all.

4) Loafers (Buy here)
Sam Edelman
There's no complex reason to why I would advocate this buy.  Loafers probably mean as much to me (maybe not as much) as a pair of sky high stilettos do. Every girl must have at least one pair of loafers to wear with chinos, shorts, skirts, dresses...everything!!

P's tip- For maximum versatility, buy a super edgy pair.

5) Houndstooth clutch (Buy here)
This season, the classic houndstooth has been twisted up by designers playing with the satirical side of fashion who made the traditional print much bigger. Salvatore Ferragamo's runway from Fall 2011 personified this trend.

P's tip- If you're not daring enough to wear the trend from head to toe, start of with something simple like a simple clutch or even leggings.

Buy em all now! You're practically saving money ;)
